This month it’s all about ‘Christmas,’ although Christmas songs are banned from the kitchen until December. Makes you wonder how garden centre staff cope. They must surely want Christmas to be over long before the actual date arrives…All that tinsel, sparkle and jolly songs on repeat but, and here’s the thing that keeps us excited right from our early ages - there is always something magical at this time of year. The nights close in, that early frost glistens on the lawn and we just don’t feel quite so guilty when we reach for the sweet treats that this season promotes so freely.

It’s the month for hats, gloves and festive treats

Regardless of how you personally feel about fireworks (for me they are just too loud), November does encourage all of us to buy a jumper or two, dig out the fingerless gloves and cook hotdogs. With an outdoor fire or not, there is something glorious about a real hotdog with white bread, French mustard and red sauce, or so I am told by one of my good friends.

With Halloween and Bonfire night behind us, it is time to launch my designer Christmas Cakes and this year I have chosen… A traditional Christmas cake, a festive snowman or the showstopper of the year… A 9-inch-tall Santa Claus. Now the height is important here because it’s Santa’s head, complete with bushy white beard. A centre piece for Christmas Day and a real treat for family, friends and guests. Choose from fruit, chocolate and orange, or toffee.

The gifting of brownies

So many of us have friends and family for whom we have no idea what to buy. Here at Tree House Towers, we have the perfect suggestion – Brownies. Lovingly made, gift-wrapped and posted to the address of your choice. It really is that simple. No ambling aimlessly around the shops, looking at 3 for 2’s and wondering what to keep for yourself…Chocolate brownies are always a hit!

So, surprise your loved ones with a doorstep gift of perfectly packaged and spread chocolate joy this Christmas. With the option to pre-order with delivery for this festive season there really is no reason to wait! Plus, delivery is free!

So, to other news

Corporate Gifting has been a huge thing this year as more and more people are working from home. Teams have been separated so leaders have been keen to maintain morale and well-being. Boxes of brownies have been the gift of choice for many of my clients who have wanted to say a Thank you or arrange a ‘virtual’ coffee break.

New car owners have also been delighted to receive a beautifully packaged box of freshly baked brownies nestled on their front seats as a thank you for their business.

I have also catered for a large number of weddings and this theme continues well into the new year. It remains where my heart lies, and I love the process from design right through to when I hand the cake over. The look on the couple’s faces as they see their wedding cake for the first time is something not easily forgotten.

I plan to start videoing the cake making process from the new year, editing it and then offering this with my wedding cake design package.

Hurrah for December celebrations

If you have a birthday or celebration during December and you’d like to order an occasion cake or one of our Brownie Towers you can do this by getting in touch through the website or on social media.

Brownies continue to be a huge hit – as they have been this year and I’d like to say a warm ‘Thank You’ to my clients for your continued support and loyalty.

Eating a brownie is so very like wrapping a soft, cashmere blanket around your shoulders.

Now, eat a brownie while you are cocooned in cashmere - I just don’t know how you could feel happier or more content.

If you’d like to order one of our Christmas cakes or would simply like a box of comfort-giving, home-made brownies delivered straight to your door, simply head to the website at
